Majid Torabi, M.D., F.A.C.S

Dr. Torabi is a board-certified Otolaryngologist with over three decades of clinical experience and a special focus in rhinology, otolaryngic allergy, and endoscopic sinus surgery. He serves the Coachella Valley as founder and director of Desert Cities Allergy & Otolaryngology, with active staff privileges at Eisenhower Medical Center, Desert Regional Hospital, and JFK Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Torabi earned his medical degree from Esfahan Medical School in Iran before completing his residency in Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery at Drew Medical Center in Los Angeles. He also completed additional surgical training at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and research in head and neck cancer immunology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and an active member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology and the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy.

Peter Nguy, M.D.

Dr. Nguy is a dedicated and highly trained physician specializing in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. He completed his residency at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, where he also served as Administrative Chief Resident and contributed extensively to clinical education and research.

Dr. Nguy earned his medical degree from the Georgetown University School of Medicine and holds a Bachelor of Science in General Biology from the University of California, San Diego, where he graduated magna cum laude and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. Committed to advancing patient care through innovation and empathy, Dr. Nguy is also active in professional organizations including the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and the American Rhinologic Society.

Daren Kest, D.O., FAOCO

Dr. Kest is a board-certified Otolaryngologist and Facial Plastic Surgeon with over 24 years of clinical experience. He specializes in comprehensive medical and surgical care of the ears, nose, and throat, with a focus on head and neck cancer, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, pediatric ENT, craniofacial trauma, and obstructive sleep apnea.

Dr. Kest earned his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency in general surgery and otolaryngology at POH Medical Center. He completed a two-year fellowship in head and neck oncologic surgery and microvascular reconstruction at Indiana University, where he also served as a clinical instructor. His previous clinical appointments include leadership roles with District Medical Group in Phoenix, Northwest ENT in St. Louis, Purchase ENT in Kentucky, and Head & Neck Surgery Associates in Indianapolis.

David Lam, M.D.

Dr. Lam is a compassionate and highly trained physician specializing in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. He will be joining Desert Cities Allergy & Otolaryngology following the completion of his residency at the University of Louisville in 2025. Dr. Lam earned his medical degree from the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California, where he also helped lead community health initiatives and mentored future healthcare professionals. He holds both a Master of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from the University of California, San Diego, graduating Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa.

Fluent in conversational Vietnamese and proficient in Spanish, Dr. Lam is committed to building strong connections with patients and providing culturally sensitive care. He has a deep passion for medical education, community outreach, and clinical excellence.

Mitchell Claire, PA

Mitchell Claire is a licensed and highly experienced Physician Assistant with over 35 years of clinical practice, currently specializing in Allergy and Otolaryngology at Desert Cities Allergy/Otolaryngology Inc. in Rancho Mirage and La Quinta, California. He is also involved in addiction medicine, consulting with recovery centers throughout the Coachella Valley.

Mr. Claire began his career after earning his B.A. in Psychology from CUNY Herbert Lehman College in New York, followed by completing his Physician Assistant certification at Bayley-Seton Hospital and a postgraduate surgical residency through the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center. Over the decades, he has provided comprehensive medical care across family practice, rheumatology, internal medicine, men’s health, and ENT/allergy. Bilingual in English and Spanish, Mr. Claire is known for his compassionate approach and his commitment to accessible, culturally competent care.

Samuel Madrid, PA-C

Samuel Madrid, PA-C is a highly trained and compassionate Physician Assistant specializing in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. Mr. Madrid joined Desert Cities Allergy & Otolaryngology after completing a prestigious fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona, where he gained comprehensive experience in general ENT, head and neck surgery, facial plastics, otology, laryngology, and pediatric ENT care. Mr. Madrid earned his Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies from Northern Arizona University, where he was recognized for academic excellence and interprofessional collaboration.

With hands-on experience assisting in complex surgical procedures — from cochlear implants to reconstructive head and neck surgeries — Samuel brings a wide range of clinical expertise. Samuel is dedicated to delivering evidence-based, empathetic care and is committed to continuous learning and surgical excellence.
